Vehicle Medical Aid Kit

A Medical Aid Kit designed for Outsurance Insurance company as a corporate gift to give away to their loyal clients. The Medical Aid Kit is designed especially to fit in the boot of the vehicle, on the back of the rear back seat. Therefore making it easier for clients to use the Medical Aid Kit as well as provide a working surface and a storage area.

This area in the top boot is very seldom used which gave an opportunity to inspire the shape of the medical aid kit. The back of the medical aid kit when in its upright position will be slopped therefore the medical aid kit doesn’t use much space in the boot, only at the top underneath the back board. The two drawers are arranged in a low to high emergency situation, where the top draw is the low emergency drawer and the lower drawer is the higher emergency drawer.

The idea of the medical aid kit sparked from the idea of the medical aid kit being hidden. This became an opportunity to use the boot as the place of storage, where the medical aid kit will be attached to the back of the rear back seat at the top. This allowed for change by incorporating a drawer design instead of a box design. This therefore allows the user to use the medical aid kit in its storage position where the user flips down the rear seat and slides the drawers open. The medical aid kit cross can be seen from the back of the car when the boot is opened as well as when the chair is flipped down, therefore facing up towards the user. Another area where the medical aid kit can go is behind the front seats in the vehicle, because of the slopped edge which doesn’t affect the person/people sitting in the back of the car.

The medical aid kit is branded through the medical items found inside, where they will contain sayings for the user to understand what each medical item is used for. The medical aid kit will be branded through the Outsurance green in the sunken relief medical cross, which is traditionally a green colour, and in the raised descriptions found on the drawers to remind the users to ‘Apply pressure to the wound’ and ‘Always disinfected’.

The medical aid kit can also easily be removed from the car through the valcrow strips where is can also be used outside of the car. The medical aid kit will be a white ABS plastic with a secondary moulded lime green colour. The medical aid kit will consist of a leather covering over the top, back and bottom of the medical aid kit for that quality look and feel.
